We have expanded our product range to meet the requirements of our environmentally friendly conscious customers.
The firewood that we supply
Our firewood is sourced locally and tends to be either waste products from tree surgery operations or timber taken from thinning sustainable woodland. We are very selective in the wood that we supply and tend to stick to five hardwood species, Ash, Oak, Sycamore, Beech and Birch. In terms of softwood this tends to be mainly Pine but can include some types of Cypress and Cedar.
We supply both hardwoods and softwoods, each have different characteristics and suit different uses. Hardwoods such as Ash and Oak tend to burn at a high temperature for a long time but can lack that initial ‘quick burn’. Softwoods burn a little quicker but are very easy to light and give a very quick and hot burn. More information can be found here.
